Tomorrow at 12 pm est, DayTraderRockStar will be interviewing Ray Burchett, founder of Intuitive Development Training. 

 

Here is a little background information on Mr. Burchett:

- Mr. Burchett traded for his own account in the S&P 500 pit from 1983-2004.

- In 1997, he co-founded Local Knowledge and served as President until October 2004, pioneering on-line trader development.

- In 2005, he founded Archimedes Partners to commercialize Intuitive Development for trading and non-trading professionals.

- He served on the Pit, Pit Oversight, Technology, and Index and Options Market Nominating Committees.

- He participated in the CME's Ask An Expert program and other trader development initiatives led by the CME Resource Center

- He has been an invited speaker for the Maryland Chapter of the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD); ManuLife Bank, Montreal; and the Lexington (KY) Chapter of Legatus.

- Prior to joining the CME Mr. Burchett practiced as a C.P.A. with Arthur Andersen in Chicago.

- He is a graduate of the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.

HPS Watch list has been Released

Looking back at the picture perfect set up in the markets this past week, It's amazing to see how exact the level played out across all time frames. This market might not have the volatility, or volume at times, But the setups continue to show themselves in a very clear manner. As we pulled back into the lower portion of the flag on the $SPX. We also had the majority of the HPS 100 set up in a Huge buy signal. The HPS100 is the list of stocks I scan each week for the HPS watch list. I don't limit myself to the 100 but created that to keep focus on quality stocks and generally good trading stocks. When I sit down to start researching for the HPS watch list It starts off with a process of going through most of the S&P 500 index, Looking at sector performance, and what sectors didn't perform. Those visual scans 1 chart at a time is the first part of weeding out the next money makers. I break the stocks down and weed out anything that does not have at least 2 indicators setting up in sync. I keep future potential set ups in a list that I check through out the week, and separate the 3-4 indicator stocks into a narrower focus list. The I break those down and take the best of the best. It's a process that takes time but when you see the results of the HPS stocks it is something that I just want to continue to do. Now back to the HPS 100 this is not something I mention every week, and the fact is the HPS 100 was once the HPS 40 and the number of stock in it will always be changing. The key is to continue to go back to the "Quality" stocks that set up in repeating patterns and low risk entry zones. I will be working on a Trend Line Alert section of the HPS site that will have the HPS100 in its focus and will automatically alert us of those perfect channels that have been key in trading this market.

Here is a Market update video for the rest of the week, as today turned out to be pretty in line of what was expected, Tomorrow is in focus as it could be a continued streak for Tuesdays, We are going for 21 straight Tuesdays in a row. I hate that type of media coverage and I guess I just added to it, The video also covers 3 Kick Ass Trades setting up $HAL, $SLB, and $SAP among a great review of today's scalps and trades.

The SPY weekly chart is signaling a “risk-off” market for the near term after testing and rejecting the top of the 2009 rising channel. There are numerous mixed signals coming from the currency and bond markets.  I am not yet convinced that starting new swing short positions are worth the risk / reward, however, there are still many different strategies we can use to generate income off increasingly volatile markets that are more or less range bound. After reviewing the indices charts a correction is welcome here, but in my opinion, it is not time to be overly bearish.  This weeks watch list is going to focus on selling option premium because it’s a safer strategy in volatile markets.

S&P 500 update and HPS watch list for week of June 3rd

Here is this weeks HPS video watch list http://daytradingradio.com/10for1000 and there is a second video under that one which is an update on market conditions and S&P outlook for the first week in June

Going into next week i am looking for continued weakness early Monday, If we get that gap down or  early slide I will sell my Spy Puts and look to get some confirming signals that this is once again an opportunity to pick up some quality. But for added safety I will be stressing the importance of using the stochastic candle combination. ( Buy only after there has been more then 3 down days that consist of lower highs and lower lows.

And just the opposite when taking the short set up

These triggers should be taken only when the stochastics of the same time frame are either overbought or oversold. I will doing an educational video on this set up early next week with  great examples and an accompanying cheat sheet.

Further more I will be using this signal (Indicator) more on the SPY with the 60 minute time frame.
