This is my all time favorite charting/technical analysis book. I was introduced to Hit and Run Trading in the mid 90's and this was one of the first trading styles I used with success. I thought that it was the holy gral to trading, but found out later that most systems work in an extremely bullish market. The system still holds value in todays market but you must adapt it to the smaller and tighter ranges that are seen in the market these days. Definitely the first book I would recommend, as it's an easy and fun read and explains a lot about the underlying reasons that patterns work. |

What set this book apart from others were the interviews with quality, real life traders. It gets right to the important issues of being a successful trader. The lineups of traders that are interviewed in this book are all top notch. There is one key ingredient that is shared by all of them, “Discipline”. It also explains the importance of being able to take a loss, and how this in some cases is more important than taking profits. This is a must have in every traders library. |

This book, in my opinion, is the encyclopedia of technical analysis. It is a great reference book and a must have for the beginning trader. It covers everything from technical analysis, chart patterns, market structure, price patterns and the DOW theory. To become a successful trader, you need to have this in your library. |

Options are always an important part of your arsenal. I don’t use an options strategy as much as I should in my trading. But I did come across a great book on options in my continuing education. Out of the dozens of option books I've researched, Options Made Easy was one of the best books that I’ve seen. It covers, in detail, basic fundamental analysis, technical analysis, psychology, and detailed strategies. I can't say enough about this book. It’s my number one pick if you need an options guide. |

What I like about this book, is that it's basically the personal notes of a full time day trader compiled into a manual. It’s a little dated, but has good information on two and three day bar setups. This is a must have for your library. I don't believe you will find it in any bookstore, or find any other book like this anywhere. It’s all real life notes, and real life information with no fluff. Each chart has annotations describing every setup for your education. |

Trader Vic was considered The Wall Street Pro by Barrons and his book, released in 1991, was one of the first books that I bought. It’s an in depth look at the philosophy for success in the markets. It is a great introduction to the DOW theory and how to identify the change of trends. The book covers many aspects of making money and by integrating them into your trading philosophy, you will be that much closer to becoming a successful trader for a living. |
